T16 storage bin mounting and drain question

It's my first time owning a T16. Since the bilge and battery access are covered, I'd like a clip system to make it easier to take out the two black storage bins under the back cushions instead of having them screwed down. Any reccommendations? Also, I noticed the bins don't have drains. Can I dril holes in them?

Nice, congratulations on your new T16!
For those back cushion storage bins, heavy-duty stainless steel spring clips or over-center latches should work great!
Just make sure to get the correct measurement!
As for drilling holes, I'm a bit hesitant about the idea as bilge water might get into the bins.
Maybe other members here have good ideas!

As for drilling the bins, I think you can just make sure you seal the edges so they don't crack or weaken over time.

If you're considering drilling some drains in those bins, it's definitely doable. Just make sure to use a step drill bit and take your time with it. Oh, and don't forget to support the bin from the inside to prevent any cracking. A little painter's tape can work wonders too, keeping the bit from slipping around.

I'm curious, what kind of conditions do you usually keep those bins in? Knowing that might help a lot

For drain holes in those plastic bins, you actually don't need to seal the edges. Just make sure to deburr them really well after drilling so they're smooth and don't snag anything. The plastic they're made of is tough enough not to crack from simple drainage holes, and sealing might even trap water

I swapped my bin screws for marine push-button latches and it made life way easier. And yeah, you can drill small drain holes, but make sure you angle them so water runs out and not into the hull.
